Monday Assembly - 18th May: Our NHS

This week we are thinking about the value of dedication. Dedication means that someone is committed to something, they keep going and don't give up.

Last week marked the 200 year anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth, the founder of modern nursing. Our nurses, doctors and healthcare workers are dedicated to helping people.

Every week, we clap to show our thanks for their dedication. Many of you also have signs in your windows saying 'Thank you NHS' but how much do you know about the NHS?

Miss Moon has made a video to explain about 'Our NHS':

Think about these questions for a moment:

  • What have you learnt from our assembly about the NHS?
  • Does it matter if you are a man or woman when you are choosing a job in the NHS?
  • How many different jobs in the NHS can you think of?

If you would like to know a bit more about some of the different jobs in the NHS, you can watch this video which tells you about all the dedicated health care workers that helped Sophie when she hurt her leg.
