St Peter's Support Fund
Help your child thrive at St Peter's Catholic Primary School
At St Peter's, we want to provide the best education to enable every child to thrive, and with your support, your child can enjoy even richer learning experiences. Our new St Peter's Support Fund turns parent contributions into meaningful enhancements, from vibrant classrooms to exciting opportunities that go beyond the everyday curriculum.
In the past we have requested your financial support for two specific school funds:
- School Fund – This fund helps enhance pupils' learning experiences by subsidising educational activities such as school trips, workshops, visits from theatre groups.
- Building and Resources Fund – This fund is used to meet the required contribution the school must make to capital projects. As a Voluntary Aided Catholic school, we are not fully funded by the Government for capital expenditure and we are required to raise 10% of the cost of maintaining the school buildings each year from our parent community. Recent projects made possible by this fund include the refurbishment of the kitchen, the replacement of the school roof, and most recently the upgrade of site security with new access doors. Future plans to further enhance the school environment include learning pods and the refurbishment of the Early Years playground.
The contributions we have received over the years into both funds have been critical in improving our school's learning environment and physical infrastructure, helping all the children to thrive.
In order to streamline the process of giving, last year we decided to combine the two funds into this single one – the St Peter’s Support Fund, which supports both the School Fund and the Building and Resources Fund.
Every donation makes a difference – however big or small.
Given the well-publicised constraints on Government funding and the economic background of rising costs, in common with other schools, parental financial contributions are becoming an increasingly important source of funding for schools. Therefore, in line with last year, we are suggesting a minimum voluntary contribution of £52.00 per family per year, which amounts to just £1 per week. We are suggesting this as a minimum, however we welcome any amount that fits your budget, whether larger or smaller.
The easiest way to contribute is through our new CAF Donate Page, where you can make a one-off payment or a regular donation and you can customise the amount. If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider ticking the Gift Aid box when donating, as this allows us to reclaim 25% of your contributions from the government at no extra cost to you.
