Children make excellent progress at St Peter's.
We are delighted to announce the results of the statutory assessments that are carried out at the end of each Key Stage as well as the Phonics checks in KS1. Well done to all our pupils who have worked so hard this year, and a huge thank you to all the teachers, teaching assistants, parents and carers whose support has enabled our children to achieve such brilliant results!

Early Years Foundation Stage
Teachers assess children in each of the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. Children are deemed to have attained a ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) if they have reached at least the expected standard in all of their Prime areas of development as well as the specific areas of Literacy and Maths Percentage of pupils attaining the ‘Good Level of Development’ measure: 72%
KS1 Phonics Screening Check
The check is designed to give teachers and parents information on how children are progressing in phonics, and assesses whether they have reached the required standard in phonics skills and knowledge. Children who have not yet met the standard at the end of Y1 will be screened again at the end of Y2.

Multiplication Tables Check
The purpose of the check is to determine whether a child can fluently recall their times tables up to 12. Year 4 children at St. Peter's scored a mean score of 22.5 with 35% scoring 25/25. There is no pass mark for this check. The national average for the MTC this academic year hasn't been published by the DfE yet, however, in 2023, the mean score nationally was 20 out of 25 with 29% of children achieving 25/25.
