School Lunches

We are very fortunate in having a kitchen on the premises which is staffed by Twelve15, the Surrey School catering company. For information on school meals and on the weekly menus, please see the documents below.

All children in Years R-2 are entitled to a free school lunch. If your child is in Years 3-6 and would like to have a school lunch, these are charged at £13 per week (from September 2022). This must be paid online via ParentMail.

For any queries regarding lunch please speak to Mrs Cardy, our School Secretary.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR CHILD WISHES TO STOP HAVING SCHOOL LUNCHES, AT LEAST TWO WEEKS' NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN IN WRITING TO MRS CARDY BY EMAILING office@stpeters-leatherhead.surrey.sch.uk

Nut-Free SchoolsNut Free School – Allergy Information – The Purbeck School

St Peter's is a Nut -Free school.

People who suffer from nut allergies can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has eaten or touched nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock (which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties). First aid staff in the school are trained to use the Epi-pens (an injection of adrenalin) which is required immediately if this happens.

We have a number of children in school with severe nut allergies in school so must insist that for their safety, St Peter's is a nut free school.

We cannot have nuts in school in any form. We ask that you have no nut products in the lunch boxes or brought into the school as before or after school treats. This includes items like:

  • Peanut butter sandwiches
  • Some Chocolate spreads
  • Cereal bars
  • Some granola bars
  • Cakes that contain nuts
  • Biscuits / Cookies that contain nuts
  • Peanut butter cakes
  • Some Asian food, including satay
  • Sauces that contain nuts

This list is not exhaustive, so please check the packaging of products closely. We appreciate that this is an additional thing to check and we know that you recognise the importance of it. We know if this was your child you would expect that we all play our part, especially as this can be a life-threatening condition.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Dietary Requirements

**UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2022**

As some parents have experienced issues with the online portal for Special Diet requests, it has been agreed that as an interim measure, if your child has any special dietary requests then please complete and return the below form to the school office. We will then share this with Twelve15.

You can find more on Special Diets and Allergies here  https://itstwelve15.co.uk/allergies/

Please note that we aim to be a nut-free school. We ask parents/carers not to send nuts or nut products into school.

This includes tree nuts such as walnut, almond, hazelnut, cashew, pistachio and Brazil nuts, as well as peanuts.

Free School Meals (FSM)

In these difficult economic times when families’ circumstances may have changed, children may qualify for free school meals. For every child who qualifies for free school meals, the school receives a substantial amount of Government funding, so even if the child prefers to bring packed lunches (or automatically qualifies for FSM because they are in Reception or KS1) , it is still vitally important to the school that an application for free school meals is made. Mrs Cardy has more information and forms should be completed as soon as possible.

Please click here to download the FSM form.
