Year R - Week beginning 13th July
Hi Reception,
We hope that you had another fantastic week. We cannot believe that this is the children’s last week of Reception! We hope that everyone particularly enjoyed all of our dinosaur activities last week. Just to remind you that we are only planning lessons for
Monday-Thursday. If your child is at school, these will be taught by us. Friday is
to be used to recap any of the lessons from Monday-Thursday, if you wish to, or
to access Numbots, as well as reading and independent learning activities - of their choice.
This week, our independent learning activities are based around memories and celebrating the end of a fantastic first year at school.
For our Maths learning, we are continuing our Power Maths Learning. We are
Finishing Unit 13 called ‘‘Counting on and Counting back’. If you are home
learning please see the PowerPoint and feel free to contact us, if you have any questions.
For our Phonics learning, this week Mrs Bolden will be posting daily Phonics
videos Monday-Thursday for the home learners. We are going to be continuing to
work on applying what we have learnt already in Phase 3 and 4 to reading and writing.
If you need anything at all, please just email us. We hope you all enjoy this final week, we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the picnic on Wednesday.
Sending best wishes to everyone.

Independent learning time ideas: w/c 13th July
This week, our independent learning activities are about celebrating and marking the end of our amazing Reception year!
Physical development
Can you put on your very own sports day?
Ideas for races: egg and spoon, relay, sprint or an obstacle course! Maybe you could time yourself doing one race and see if you can beat that time, on your next attempt.
Can you plan and make your very own picnic?
Hopefully, you will be joining us for Reception’s end of year picnic on
Wednesday 15th July.
Write down a list of all the things you are going to take. Help prepare the food. Try to plan some fun, yet healthy, treats. Then, have your picnic and - enjoy!
However, even if you're not joining us, perhaps you can still join in with this fun activity at home - in your garden or a local point!
PSED / Expressive Art and Design
Can you fill in a memory jar?
It has been an amazing year Reception - with so many incredible memories!
Therefore, choosing just one standout moment may be tricky. However, we would like you to give it a go and try to record a little something about one of your favourite memories from your first year - here with us at St. Peters.
You could either do it on the enclosed memory jar - via painting, drawing, printing etc, or you could even record a video and post it to Tapestry - creating your very own time capsule!
Music
Listen to the songs below.
Celebrate Good Times… Come on!
You got a friend in me!
Can you make up your very own dance to them?
Perhaps you could film yourself and post it to Tapestry?
As a ‘show and tell’ for all of your friends to see!
Maybe you’ve also got a favourite musical film you would like to watch?
Could you pick your favourite song from this film and get dancing and singing to it.
You could record this to show everyone, as a ‘show and tell’ - on Tapestry!
